Sharing Our Wellness Through Friendship & Laughter

On World Mental Health Day in October 2018, Macc launched its Sharing Our Wellness campaign, which aimed to start a citywide conversation about mental well-being. Macc, which supports and develops voluntary & community organisations and local people in Manchester, offered mini grants for organisations to run activities in support of the campaign.

We applied for and were kindly given the grant, which we then used to fund our Christmas Bingo and the Carers’ Christmas Party. Both events were well-attended and people said (and our photos & videos would show) they enjoyed the activities very much. Get-togethers like these allow parent-carers to keep their mind away from the caring role – even for an hour or two – and provide opportunities to socialise and make friends, as well as have a right laugh, thus providing a boost to their mental and emotional well-being.

Check out our video below showing snippets of the “Sharing Our Wellness” activities that we organised for carers as well as the lovely testimonials that parents said about these events.
