A Carer’s Assessment is a service provided by the Manchester City Council aimed at identifying the sorts of support which would be most beneficial to individual carers of various circumstances. If you support a relative, friend or neighbour – whether due to their age, physical or learning disability, mental illness or substance misuse (drugs or alcohol) – and you are not paid for the support you provide, then you can get advice and support to help you in your caring role. Carers are entitled to an assessment even if the person they care for doesn’t receive services themselves.
